Default Ohhh...

Okay, I gotcha now. Well, I guess the disparity between expectations and reality have proved too great for many people, though it's not all Obama's fault. I think folks in general simply do not comprehend how entrenched is the culture of D.C. Besides, when has any politician ever really lived up to the hype of a campaign? I suspect the politicians themselves, especially those new to the D.C. scene, don't have a clue as to the real nature of politics until they arrive and become immersed in the government cesspool of self-interest and corruption.

Well now I said it there but its legal.

Tom you are preaching to the choir with me.

Need to read that book on discipleship...I know I fall way short on that count.

The words to the hymn are haunting if you consider the ramifications

"are ye able",said the Master,"to be crucified with me"

scarey

Default Awww, shucks, David...

I wasn't preaching directly to you or anyone in particular. And I'm with you regarding my own personal struggle with discipleship; it's a long, tough journey frought with daily challenges. My understanding is that God only asks that we do as best we can at any given time, and the rest of the time we're forgiven when we stumble. That's good enough for me 'cause I am acutely aware of my own foibles. I really don't need to have anyone else beat me over the head with them nor do I need to wallow in them daily, pleading, "Unworthy, unworthy!"

There's one thing I learned quite a while back: martyrdom is over-rated. When you're dead, it kind of limits your ability to try and follow in faith, huh? :-)

Stay out of the weather; it's snowing here again. Not that I'm complaining. I like the snow.

Cool

For all the talk and all the bluster from both sides of the aisle, I would observe that my life hasn't changed one bit either way in the last year. I still have my job and my guns. And I still get by.
